Primary Purpose
The LICENSED NURSE Practitioner’s primary purpose is to perform practical nursing care and assist physician’s or registered nursed in complex or routine situations in settings as hospitals, clinics, private homes, long term care facilities, schools, state institutions, or other environments.
Major Responsibilities
• Assist Registered Nurse Practitioners and Doctors
• Participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of patients.
• Measure and record patient’s vital signs, such as weight, height, blood pressure, breathing, pulse, and temperature.
• Administer prescribed medications and intervenes fluids, while recoding the times and amounts on the patient’s charts.
• Assess patient questions and calls.
• Assist patients in dressing, bathing, moving, and other personal hygiene issues.
• Monitor and record patient’s food and fluid intake and output.
• Collect patient’s blood, urine, and stool samples for laboratory tests.
• Explain treatments and procedures to patients.

Reporting Relationships
Incumbents must effectively communication with supervisors, peers, and subordinates. Receive and carryout orders from supervisors such as Physicians or Registered Nurse Practitioners. Monitor and supervises nurses aides and assistants, providing clear instructions and explanations.
