It is vital that organizations put goal-setting into practice as it is a great tool to motivate employees. Organizations are most likely to benefit from focusing their employees’ efforts to achieve high organization performance. Employees who are committed and satisfied to an organization are more likely to stay the company and tend to accept the challenges that the company faces

Using the model for goal setting, evaluate Allstate’s goal setting process to determine whether or not Allstate has an effective goal-setting program.

Allstate believes in setting goals as it is a key mechanism for improving job satisfaction and performance since it permits employees to be self motivated; Goal setting is the process of setting ideas for accomplishment can be used by individuals and groups to measure performance and get results (Hellriegel and Slocum, 2011, pg. 192). The theory behind this is that goals tell an employee what needs to be done and how much effort will need to be expended (Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhart, and Wright, 2009, pg. 122-123).

Human Resource executives at Allstate have realize the importance of diversity strategy and has looked closely to it, in order to enhance performance and attain corporate goals. In addition, diversity strategy has become one of Allstate most competitive tools. According to Hellriegel and Slocum, 2010, pg. 215, Allstate goal setting comprise of two major parts which are internally focus and externally focus. Internal. The internal focus give employees the tools, resources, and opportunities in order to succeed. The external focus make sure that the workforce matches the experience and background in the market it serves.
