Skeletal Diseases

Part I:

I know that our bones protect our organs, hold our bodies together, and help us with movement. Bones are not always healthy though, things can occur to them causing the effects to be very painful, debilitating and perhaps deadly. These skeletal diseases can occur to people of all ages, and throughout cultures. As well these diseases can be hereditary or just an outcome of insufficient eating habits. Scoliosis, arthritis, bone cancer and osteoporosis are all painful results pertaining to bone diseases.

I would like to study more into osteoarthritis, because it is very common within my mom’s side of the family. Arthritis had started in my family with my grandma’s father, and then it was passed down to my grandma, now my mom is experiencing symptoms of arthritis. So I would like to find out what is the cause for this bone disease, and is it a hereditary disease. As well I would like to know how you can prevent this disease or what you can do to reduce the symptoms of arthritis.

Part II:

I am selecting this disease to study, because this disease does occur in my family. As well I am hoping if I do research on this disease I can help my grandma and my mom to be more aware of the disease. I hope to be able to help my family with arthritis by researching exercises and techniques that will help to reduce the pain of arthritis so their bones are not always in pain. I believe by researching this disease I will be able to help my family, and relieve them of the pain arthritis has caused them.

Part III:

During my research I’ve learned all about osteoarthritis abbreviated as OA. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis in North America, where millions of people have been diagnosed by their doctor.
