McCarthyism

Juannika Armstead

McCarthyism affected the lives of many Americans that were accused of being sympathizers of communist. Many people throughout the U.S. suffered from loss of jobs, jail time and loss of pay and rights in America. Numerous of artists and writers also suffered loss of income and there careers were over because of this. Political and educators were also accused because of there beliefs or a friend of a communist. Americans couldn’t at lease speak a world about being communist and your freedom would be gone. In my opinion I believe that communism would have never worked in America just the fact of having equal rights this means no matter what you did everyone would get the same award this wasn’t right. This means in other words that you can purse a degree and in college and just anyone can do the same thing and get paid the same amount of pay without going? With communism the government rules your lifestyle no one has say so, no one has the ability to make their own decisions with nothing. Just having the idea that you worked for something so long you want the results for it, you pay the price to better yourself. I just personally believe that communism would never work in America because this world is full of competitions and its human nature to want better for yourself and every one wants to become better than the next not saying that this is right. But, when you really think about it who wants to live their life knowing that they have someone controlling every step of the way this just disregards the whole American dream Freedom.
