The hate crimes are seeds, or a plague, of fear, ignorance, pride, and hatred. Hate Crimes can infect society and violates everybody that it comes in contact with. In our society, everybody is entitled to live free from discrimination, or harassment, from hate crimes.

There are many possible explanation for hate crimes, but most people that commit hate crimes are ignorant when it comes down to people that are different than they are. Like a disease, hate crimes are committed by fear, ignorance, pride, and hatred of others. Like the saying, “Most people fear what they do not understand.” Many people in our own society have many different stereotypes and prejudices to other different cultures; my question is it hate crimes or just society coping with the different races together to get another? The different is hate crimes is commit by individual that hate another race by the many possible results such as fear, hatred, fear, and ignorance. According to Rose Ochi, Director of Community Relations Service, U.S. Dept. of Justice, explains the what hate crime are in society:

Hate crime is the violence of intolerance and bigotry, intended to hurt and intimidate someone because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religious, sexual orientation, or disability. The purveyors of hate use explosives, arson, weapons, vandalism, physical violence, and verbal threats of violence to instill fear in their victims, leaving them vulnerable to more attacks and feeling alienated, helpless, suspicious and fearful. Others may become frustrated and angry if they believe the local government and other groups in the community will not protect them. When perpetrators of hate are not prosecuted as criminals and their acts not publicly condemned, their crimes can weaken even those communities with the healthiest race relations.
