The advancement of new technologies has forced many companies to assess the effectiveness of older technology.  Employers must compare the current tech's efficiency and cost to the newer technology and decided which is a better fit for their company's long and short term goals. Another important challenge managers face in the workplace is diversity.  A company's diversity includes employee attitudes, cultures beliefs. The company can make an effort to bridge these differences, but, it would be challenging because it requires certain regulations that need to be implemented to ensure that employees can adapt to the culture of the company with ease (Kerzner, 2006). For this reason, companies create teams to manage all their projects so that they will be their if employees are having a hard time.

Project

Understanding the structure of a particular project can be gained by the discussing all aspects about the project's management. Every business conducts many different kinds of projects, and the kind of project that they conduct is determined by the business’ nature. One good example for this situation would be the car manufacturer Ford, which has a Fusian project that they are undertaking and this project aims to produce a more fuel efficient car. For example, should Ford invest in new Hybrid Technology, electric motor, or improve standard gas fuel engine technology. Furthermore Apple has a new project introducing a 10-inch notebook. Apple must determine whether or not the new 10 inch notebook is a cost effective addition to it's already large selection of laptops. Both companies have different projects; however, it is essential that the management of each project is researched, planned and implemented effectively to ensure the project's success.
