a. Ted Jones has been the Supply Manager for two years.

3. SOLUTIONS:

a. Best Solution: Establish Supply Chain Management into the organization.

Advantages:

-The integration of supply chain management will help meet the customer needs more quickly and efficiently.

- By utilizing supply chain management the company will be able to offer products or services at a lower cost which will give them a competitive lead.

Disadvantages:

-The integration of supply chain management is not an easy or quick process. It will take the support of all upper management in order to be successful.

-The transition to supply chain management will affect each individual and department in the company, if not properly handled the transition could cause lower morale and possibly end in failure.

b. Alternate Solution: Schedule a weekly Integrated Product Team (IPT) meeting that a representative from each department will be required to attend.

Advantages:

-A weekly IPT will give the departments an opportunity to provide pertinent information to the other departments. Also, they can discuss current issues and work as a team to come up with creative solutions.

-This will build communication between the departments.

-Working in a team setting will help the departments work together to incorporate better practices and to resolve issues more quickly.

Disadvantages:

-A weekly IPT may disrupt the current weekly schedules that each department currently utilizes. It will have to be scheduled on a day and time that works for each department....
