Chevron works in all segments of the downstream industry such as manufacturing, products, chemicals and transportation. The locations of the company’s refining sources are primarily concentrated in Asia, South Africa, Western Europe and North America. The refineries serve customers all over the world. Their refining system can process more than two million barrels of crude oil per day. Chevron markets finished lubricants primarily under three brands: Chevron, Texaco and Caltex, along with marketing refined fuels. Chevron’s retail products are available in six continents. They have retail stations in the United States, Pakistan, Western Canada, Europe and Asia as well as the Caribbean and Latin America. Chevron’s Lubricants business provides finished and unfinished lubricants and base oils to marine, commercial, industrial and retail customers worldwide. Chevron’s Strategy, Technology and Commercial Integration organization plays a critical role by trading and marketing crude oil and refined products. Chevron Pipe Line Co. is responsible for transporting gas liquids, CO2, petrochemicals and natural gas as well as crude oil. Chevron’s subsidiary Chevron Shipping manages a fleet of vessels that transport their products worldwide to over 20,000 retail operations. Founded in 1879 with well over 65,000 employees worldwide as of the end of 2011 and is Corporate offices are located in in San Ramon California.
