When it comes to computers and technology I am very well educated in that area. I’ve been taking computer classes since probably elementary school and I caught on quickly to everything we were learning. When I reached high school I decided to further my computer knowledge by taking a web design class my senior year. In that class the programs we used were adobe programs – Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, and Fireworks. We also used Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, which I had already learned in previous years of school. The program I use the most and I am most familiar with is Microsoft Word. In one of my high school computer classes we were tested on our knowledge of Microsoft and I have a certificate saying I am certified as a Microsoft Office Specialist having demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Word 2003. Then after high school I spent a year at Full Sail University where I majored in Web Design and Development. So I used all the same applications I used in my web design class in high school, but I did learn to use iMovie, which allows you to edit videos. Even though I am familiar with so many programs I still want to learn more and also improve my skills in some applications. I have yet to be able to understand Excel and I want to know how to use because I know if you work in an office environment you most likely need to use Excel. Also I want to grasp the concept of Adobe Flash, it always confused me and I hated to use it. I think my experience with computers will be good in my Orientation Workshop and also in my upcoming college years because I have an advantage being so computer savvy. It could put me ahead of others who may not know how to work all the different computer programs.
