History of Islam

In this world of civilization, we have many different kind of religions that we believe in. The major religions of the world ranked by the number of adherents are Christianity, Islam, Atheist/Nonreligious and Hinduism. Islam is ranked two in this world with 1.5 billion adherents and it contains twenty one percent of the whole world’s population. Islam has been known as a religion since 500 CE.

The Islam religion was found in the 6th Century around 500 AD. In Islam, Adam is believed to be the first human being and the first prophet of Islam. Adam’s role as the father of the human race is looked upon by Muslims with reverence, who also venerates his wife, Eve (HAWAA), as the “mother of mankind”. Muslims see Adam as the first Muslim that all the prophets preached the same faith of submission to God. After Adam, Islam had a lot of other prophets to spread the words of Islam, the religion and the creations of god (Allah). Muslims believe that God has provided guidance to humanity over the ages through the institution of prophethood (“Timeline of Prophets”). In the Islamic context, prophets are not persons who prophecy rather they are seen as righteous and truthful messengers selected by God (Allah) to fulfill the most important mission which is calling on people to worship God (Allah) alone, and teaching them to live righteously, in accordance with God’s commandments. Muslims believe prophets, and the scriptures given to them are the only sure sources of God’s guidance, and that God has chosen, throughout the history of Islam. In Islam, the prophets are seen as spiritual brothers to one another. Prophets give warnings and glad tidings to human beings. Warnings of punishment in this world and the next for unjust, immoral people who have turned away from God and His natural order, and glad tidings of reward in this world and the next for those who are conscious of...
