Jean is in the market for a new desktop PC. Jean needs to be able to create documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and send e-mail. Jean also wants to be able to conduct online banking, make purchases online, and research while making sure her computer and its information is safe from any viruses.

I recommend Jean purchase a computer with a lot of storage space. She will need Microsoft Office to create documents, spreadsheets, databases and presentations. She will need internet service to be able to send and receive e-mails and surf the web. She will need voice internet service and a webcam to be able to participate in chatting rooms and video conference. She will need a digital camera to take pictures and a printer with scanner to scan and print the photos. She can use Microsoft Outlook to manage her schedule online. She will need a modem, monitor, keyboard, and a mouse for her desktop PC. She will also need a surge protector so there are no blackouts, etc. Finally, Jean will need anti-virus software and spyware to protect her PC from security risks.
