Now a day’s society criticizes physical characteristics of women and men. Society expects us to have the certain image of their version of what is beautiful. This causes a lot of insecurities and mental problems to people and because of this people tend to want to change something they do not like about their body. Because of the urge to be accepted people run into the first option they are presented with, plastic surgery. But society only presents the good side of having plastic surgeries and not the risk a patient can have. By Jenny Jones going public and talking about her experience proves that she wants to warn us about all the consequences a person can have and she wants us to love ourselves the way we are. For a lot of people to love themselves is really hard, if they have been criticizing them.

Jenny Jones’ body serves as evidence to the consequences of plastic surgery. In “Body of Evidence”, she narrates her experience to the beginning to the end. Growing up, do to her father’s obsession with breast, he continuously criticize her for being under develop on the breast department. In addition to her father, the rest of the women in the family were being praised for their big breasts. Because of the trauma created by her family and the era she was living in, she went all out to get breast implants. Unfortunately for her, things didn’t go as she planned. After six surgeries, she was marked for life in a mental, social, emotional, medical and physical ways. At the end of the essay Jenny encourages others to accept themselves just the way they are, is not worth the risks.

When we do not have sufficient knowledge or facts about a particular theme, we tend to accept the first thing that is presented to us in a convincing manner.
