The azure blue ocean glistened and shimmered as the bright sun shone its golden rays down upon it. Kasey Williams bounded off the steps of the bus and ran towards the golden, yellow sand. She stood at the edge of the sand where land met water. Kasey had long, silky, wavy hair the colour of chestnuts and when the sun shone on it, there were hints of red in her mass of hair. She had sapphire coloured eyes that seem to light up every time she smiled or laughed and her skin was pale though she surfed almost every day. There was a light sprinkle of freckles across her nose and she had pearly white teeth. Kelsey’s favourite animal was a dolphin although during the whole time she had been surfing in the beach close to her house, she never did see one. The gorgeous heavenly blue sky with meadows of white clouds seemed to swirl and move to different directions every time Kasey looked at it. The sound of children’s twinkling voices and their laughter drifted over to where Kasey was standing. There was a wisp of a smile on her lips yet there were also tears, the size of little crystals at the edge of her eyes threatening to fall down any second. She was going to miss this place.

Kasey’s parents had just told her a few days ago that she would be attending a boarding school overseas in Iceland in a few weeks and she needed to pick if she would go or not. She couldn’t shake off the disbelief and amazement of what her parents had done. She had always wanted to go to a boarding school overseas and now was her chance to but she hesitated and asked herself, would she actually leave her home, the beach and her love of surfing to go to a boarding school Iceland? It was a hard choice and she needed to clear her mind so she decided to go home, get changed and get ready to go surfing. When she was at home, everything was quiet.
