Completed W-2 Task

The process testing on W2s online is complete. Both Caryn and I have worked on each of the four items that I am asking you to approve to be applied in the production environment of the Hofstra portal online.

The following would be made available for an employee to have rights to use. After logging into the Hofstra Portal and selecting the employee menu tab:

Employee Tax deductions exemptions- displays the current exemptions status for federal, state and local taxes. On this page is has links to each form needed to change your exemptions. Each year this form will be updated with the current year form for each tax.

W2 Earnings Statement – Access to prior year(s) w2 form. Currently this is set up to display 2008 and on. An employee can review their W2, and print the document.

W2c Earnings Statement- Access to prior year(s) W2c form (if applicable). Currently this is set up to display 2008 and on. An employee can review their W2c, and print the document.

W2 Online Consent- an election that the employee consents to have their original W2 displayed online only, to be printed by the employee, and not to have the document printed and mailed to the home address by the University. The employee can elect and revoke this election whenever they wish, and can request a paper copy from the payroll department on demand. Functionality testing:

For the process of adding online consent, there was a determination of what was needed, consideration of limitations, and or what would occur if an employee was terminated and no longer had access to the portal.
