What is a user manual? What is a user manual supposed to provide? How does a company determine if a user manual is successful? In my opinion I believe that a user manual should inform the consumer about the product they are buying. A user manual should be easy to read, easy to navigate, how to setup up the product, provide information on how to operate the product, how to troubleshoot the product, and inform the consumer how the product is supposed to function. If these criteria are not in the user manual then I believe that a user manual is not effective. User manuals are great tools to help people familiarize themselves with a product they purchased or are looking to purchase. It is also a great tool for newly hired employees to learn about products they will be working on (V. Berba Velasco Jr.). I will be reviewing the user manual for Konica Minolta bizhub c353 Box operations. I choose this product because it is a product that I work with everyday.

Readability

I believe that if a person is computer savvy or has a background in computers that they will be able to understand the manual and navigate through it without little trouble. However I find it hard to believe that a person with little or no knowledge in information technology will be able to understand some of the instructions and how they are given.

Navigability

The online user manual for the bizhub c353 box operations is easy to navigate through. On the left hand side of the manual there are bookmarks that will take you to certain parts of the manual that you are looking for. If you are interested in saving a document then just go to the save document book mark and it will show you how to save a document. I believe that are unnecessary amounts of drop down menus in the bookmarks.
