I remember the monotonous days filled with homework, projects and research given to students. There was one time where I had a couple of projects due on the same day. I was working feverishly, the night before, trying to finish the endless line of work yet still trying to retain a good grade on it. As it ended up, I worked through the entire night from gluing pictures and typing captions to decorating the cover. At dawn, I was victorious; I had completed the impossible of finishing multiple projects in one night. I was totally exhausted, however, by the end of the night. Yet in the morning, I found a food comforting and relaxing that makes the heaviness of a sleepless night go away. This wonderful pagkain was the sandwich.

Throughout my life, I had to deal with many conflicts. Whether it’s falling behind with my schoolwork or fighting with my siblings, I become stressed. Whenever this happens, I like to eat. I go into the kitchen and find food to eat. Usually I just go through the cupboards and eat whatever snack I find. I usually find foods ranging from crackers to exotic foods like dried seaweed coated with sea salt from the Mediterranean. However as I go through my memories of all the myriad of snacks I have digested, the most comforting food would be the sandwich. Invented by John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich, this invention has been passed through centuries and has reached its peak of perfection. The sandwich first started out as slices of meat between two slices of bread. Then people started adding lettuce, different types of chesses: white cheese, yellow cheese etc., tomatoes, mayonnaise, different types of meat: salami, pastrami, ham, turkey, and different types of bread: white bread, wheat bread, Italian thin bread, French bread, flat bread etc. Now my own special kind of comfort food which has been a gift from the gods is a very unique...
