1.0 Introduction: Historically, human society can never survive without plentiful water resources. There are some great rivers nourishing various lives on the Planet Earth, the St. Lawrence is one of them. Traversing from southwest to northeast in the middle latitudes of North America, St. Lawrence River is a cardinal river that unites the Great Lakes with the Atlantic Ocean. It is the leading aqua transporter of the Great Lakes valley. It might have hundreds years ago for aborigines previous to the conquest of the white. Tranquil and serene, or perilous and furious, the river plays a integrate role for numerous French populations in Quebec. It served as a natural fortification towards the United States who fought for several times with Canada to command the wide north land. Nowadays, the river keeps supporting people’s activities in all kinds of perspectives This report mainly discusses St. Lawrence River in different aspects including geological location, history, impact of human use, pollutants and impact of a proposed project.
