DRUGS AND TEEN ABUSE
Teen abuse is a major concern in our society. If people would become educated opening the lines
of communication with our children becoming more involved in their daily activities we can help
prevent drug abuse and make this society a happier place.
Drug addiction an continuing struggle for America. Street drugs, Prescription drugs, manufactured
drugs, are all issues for today's society. Society thinks drug abusers are crack heads, walking the
streets begging for someone to give them a hit it's, so much more technical than that. Drug abusers
are person taking more than the normal dosage taking anything more than required is considered
abuse or having a problem. National Drug Society indicates drug abuse starts at an early age drug
abuse starts in the home children are taking medications from the home or seeing it used in every day
life.
Fifty percent of teens start using drugs at the age of thirteen learning this habit from their
environment (National Drug Society). Society needs to get more educated on drug abuse to better
help our children knowing why and how teens start using is the first step in solving the problem.
Some teens start using drugs at 10 years old girls starting sooner then later parents think they
are picking up these habits for their peers somewhat true. Children forming drug habits at school is
26 percent from home is 40 percent (National Drug Society). Keeping your children away
from their friends might help but, not the answer. Drug abuse starts in the home parents, it is our
responsibility to have positive role models for our children we have lost insight along the...
