Aligning human resource processes with business strategy is important because in this case with Porter Novelli the leading global marketing communication firm. It was discovered if the company wanted to increase dramatically the firms capacity in order grow the human resource processes has to be align with the business strategy so the human resource can find the talent need to cultivate top talent, design assessments and measurements for the positions. Aligning human resources with the business strategy will allow the company to install and design systematic business-focused to achieve growth and success.

The firm used the benchmarking to determine performance standards for leadership because the firm was struggling with the fundamentals of good performance management practice. The firm deicide that first iteration of the performance model would follow the work architecture’s simplicity. The use of the full performance benchmark would be detailed, with consideration of adding exceptional performance definition left for later versions.
