Could salt water fuel cars?

John Kanzius, a 63 year old man, discover what could be an alternative fuel made out of salt water. In an attempt for making an alternative to chemotherapy he created a device known as a radio frequency generator (RFC) that generates waves into a concentrated area that are used to kill cancer cells. While he was trying his new device, he noticed that it caused water to condense. With the ability of condensing water he could separate salt from salt water, and this made him continue with his experiment, but with a new objective.

When he was testing his new experiment with salt water, he noticed that the water sparked, something really unusual, when he continued with the experiment he saw that the water made a flame while the device was on. His experiment was verified by chemists from Penn State University. The explanation for this type of reaction is that the device that Kazius invented can separate the hydrogen molecules from the salt water and make them burn.

These experiments made Kazius say that he has created an alternative fuel, but Kazius’s invention can’t be considered as an alternative fuel yet, because the energy that it produces it’s lower than the energy used to produce it. So as long this is not changed into the other way, it can’t be an alternative fuel.

In 2006 a company tried to make a fuel out of a gas made up of hydrogen from water. The company tried this fuel in a car and it worked, but it was too dangerous because this gas was highly volatile, and it could explode. So it failed.
