How would you develop a training that conveys to multiple audiences within the organization?

“Training consists of planned programs designed to improve performance at the individual, group, and/or organizational levels. Improved performance, in turn, implies that there have been measurable changes in knowledge, skills, attitudes, and/or social behavior” (Cascio 2010). Companies must understand the importance of training and education to the organization. Employees that are well trained are more productive, higher performing, and more satisfied in the job. The challenges of globalization and industry changes require Desert Communications, Inc. to develop a comprehensive training program that will allow the organization to capitalize on added service within the industry.

We believe that a technology based training program would be the most efficient method to provide cost-effective and relevant training to Desert Communication employees. The advantages to this training are that it is extremely flexible, cost effective, well controlled, and comfortable which will allow it to meet the needs of both the employee and organization (Burns-Millyard, 2011). The most appropriate model of technology based training for Desert Communications would be the use of computer based training, also known as computer assisted learning. Teams and individual employees will be able to access information regarding phone insurance, additional minutes, roadside service, and so on. The training program will also include simulations, tutorials, webinars, videoconferencing, and e-learning programs. This program must be accessible from all computers within the organization and mandatory for all employees. The focus will also be in providing a participative, open, and personalized learning experience to the employee through the use of computer based training.
