A very brief Profile

of

E. S. LAKSHMANAN

Hailing from a respectable family, I am 73 years old. I am a qualified Steno-Secretary. I enjoy a good health. Overall. I have an experience of over 50 years having served in various capacities both in Government as well as private companies. Brief details of my experience are given below.

1. Was working in the Labour Department in the then Government of Madras for over three years.

2. Then shifted to Bangalore and served in Hindustan Machine Tools and Bharat Ftitz Werner for short periods.

3. My major service was for nearly 30 years in an automobile ancillary manufacturing Company in Madras. Worked in the manufacturing, O.E., Export Divisions in this Company During this period, I had visited Ashok Leyland, The Premier Automobiles, Mahindra and Mahindra and Standard Motor Products of India Ltd. Also, I had established excellent rapport and contacts with institutions such as State Bank of India (Export Division), Export Inspection Agency etc. etc.

4. Subsequently, I served as General Manager directly reporting to the Managing Director of three Small Scale industries in Guindy for about 5 years. Here my duties included recruitment, labour relations, etc.

5. Thereafter in the year 1997, I was selected by a ship-building company belonging to a group of six companies promoted by ex.merchant-navy executives Herein, I was attached to two Managing Directors of the group as their Executive Assistant. Among others, my duties included looking after regular correspondence independently, the secretarial work connected with their income tax and wealth tax returns etc. In addition to the regular work, I had opportunity to independently organize two INTERNATIONAL SEMINARS viz., Marine Symposium in Nov. 2000 held at Chennai and Dredging Symposium in Feb. 2001 held at the CWPRS (Central Water and Power Research Station), Pune.
