The Omnivore’s Dilemma

When sit down at the table for dinner do you ever think what makes that meal possible? According to the book written by Michael Pollen called The Omnivore’s Dilemma you can see in the first part of part I that there is a lot relevance that to products that we use and eat on a daily basis that use something that you would least expect and that is corn. Some of these products include soda pop, cereal, and even steak. Zey Mays (corn) is used to produce these products in some way or another. Ir can be really surprising when you really think about that when. Corn is very remarkable product that is used in so many ways that most people may never know or understand. The first three chapters of The Omnivore’s Dilemma focus on building an interest of what is actually going on with this amazing product, and also keeping the reader’s attention by the great facts that the writer provides in a very informed way.

Summary

Corn is can be found in almost anything from a nice juicy steak to soda pop, or even Twinkies. The author points out many of these amazing facts about corn and it is hard to believe at first that from one product can come so many things. Since Corn is more than just your average vegetable it is of course grown over world. Corn makes so many products and because of that reason some products need to be made right on the mill. Some of those products include corn syrup corn feed for animals and even some plastics as well. One of the things that really took me for a surprise is that some fried foods start out from this very important ingredient One of that the things the author brings up is that a very well know burger place called McDonalds has a lot of their stuff made in some way from corn ( burgers, fries, chicken nuggets ,and even some salads,) Over all it is very hard to overlook the importance for this product.
