Abstract

The business analysis provides a holistic review to substantiate the investment in DuPont. The mission statement of DuPont illustrates their commitment to future generations and the planet, which support the company vision and values. The strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of DuPont will show a solid foundation of growth with a minimal risk to our stakeholders. The investors, geographic locations, and environmental responsibility will complete this examination of DuPont.

Business Analysis Part I

The ultimate goal of a business is to continue their dominance in their respected field for generations to come; DuPont is embracing that goal in many industries. With over 200 years of expertise in science and the introduction of thousands of products to the world, DuPont is a global leader in technology and innovation. DuPont strives to collaborate with their customers, other countries, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and businesses in the pursuit of overcoming global challenges of hunger, energy production, and protection. DuPont boldly predicts a belief in providing healthy food for people everywhere; decrease our dependence on fossil fuels, protection of people, and the environment for generations to come ("Dupont, our company," 2012).

History

Eleuthère Irénée (E.I.) du Pont built his first powder mill in 1802; the site was on the Brandy wine River in the state of Delaware. E.I. du Pont studied production of advanced explosives with famous chemist Antoine Lavoisier in France. Because of the French Revolution and their political views, the du Pont family fled France in 1799 to America. E.I. du Pont had raised capital in France prior to his departure. With the money and his expertise in powder making, he was able to start his own business.
