I feel that the student accurately identified the claims from the video. The main claim was that there was damage from the oil not only in the water, but on the beach as well. Jeff Corwin also stated that this was once a popular beach that is now only occupied by clean-up crews. I felt that these were the main claims from the video as well.

I did not see the massive amount of damage that was implied by Jeff Corwin and supported by my classmates personal observations. From the video, I could not tell if the water had any oil in it and when they scanned the beach there was no oil to be seen in many of the shots. Jeff Corwin showed a small area that had oil along with one animal that had died. There was no proof that the oil killed the fish from the video, however. I agree that there is a tragedy in the Gulf, but the video not prove that this was a catastrophic disaster. I agree with my classmate that even though there was overcast, there still should have been some sort of activity going on at the beach.

I agree with both the background claims and analysis. They match my own analysis and the background information was enough info to help support the claim.

I feel that my classmate made an accurate judgment about the author being unbiased and trustworthy. Jeff Corwin's resume speaks for itself and he is obviously someone who is well respected in his field of work.

The tutorial helped me to make sure my review was constructive and in no way was trying to be negative towards my classmate. The point is to help make them better at supporting their claim. I tried to respond positively with clear comments and with suggestions that made sense.
