Report on Lecture Speech – Belinda Chen

When I studied in Ming Chuan University, I’ve met many speakers whom are invited by the professors in each class. But last time, in International Business Management class I’ve met Mrs. Belinda Chen. She is from a constructions material provider company. She is also a manager there and she has a lot of experience in doing the international business. When doing the speech, she has shared a few cases with us which are very interesting and will help us a lot in the future.

As we all know, her company is providing construction material for customers. She has a supplier which is from Europe and they’ve been in business for more than 10 years. Things were going really well until recently; the Europe supplier has changed the procedure for international business. Because Europe supplier have ordered the other company to be their agent in Asia. Therefore Mrs. Belinda’s company must contact other company to place the purchase order. This time, the purchase orders were processed in such a long time, longer than before. And now we will see the problem, Mrs. Belinda has an order from a big customer for a special material and it must be delivered before September. With the slow progress on the agent side, Mrs. Belinda’s company has already had a lot of difficulties to overcome this problem.

While having the meeting with them and the customer also, Mrs. Belinda has done a well job to convince them to supply her company in doing this business. What she did has saved the company from the impossible mission to gain the big and future business with this big client. That one case is really amazing and practical because it’s the reality case. We must learn from...
