Abstract

In this paper we will discuss the four P’s of marketing and what we must look at when promoting a product. What questions we must ask ourselves when promoting and marketing this type of product. Also we will discuss the most effective way of promoting a product of this nature.

First we need to determine what type of product or service we wish to market. In these particular instants we will market a service type business. This business will be a rubbish service that will service both residential and commercial interest. Before we can do this we need to ask ourselves some unique questions such as; what does a customer need from this type of service? To answer this we need to do some type of research; such as ask people what they want and need from a trash service. Then we need to ask what purpose this service will provide; is it a necessity or a luxury. What features does this service provide to meet these needs? How often will the customer use this service? What is the service to be called? How will it be branded and how will it be different from the competition. All of these factors must come together in order to have a product or service. (Carlson, 1999)

Now let’s answer all these questions and develop a service. This is a rubbish removal service with a twist on helping the local society by creating employment, recycling over fifty percent of the waste that is collected. We do this by collecting the trash on weekly bases with a recycling incentive that the savings will be passed on to the customers. We also help out the community by employing disabled workers in the area. We will name this service with a catchy name like Hey! That’s my Junk.
