Tuition Reimbursement Report

Today’s business environment requires a balanced structure consisting of employee retention, ethical integrity and overall performance. An employee who believes that the company he or she works for is interested in their continued personal development thru educational programs is usually excited and grateful for any opportunity provided them. Based on this premise I believe that our company would be well served by offering a tuition reimbursement program to our full time employees in all practical business areas.

Many companies offer standard employee benefits package that the employees take for granted as the typical basic employment package.   In addition to the standard employee benefits package, those companies that provide an additional tuition reimbursement program experience statistical proven positive results in organizational and people development as well as employee retention.   According to the experts human capital is crucial to success and tuition reimbursement increases the knowledge, skills and abilities of employees (BLR, 2012). Companies that provide employee development programs such as tuition reimbursement have shown a lower turnover rate amongst employees and significant productivity and efficiency gains. Over time these types of benefits have shown to far outweigh cost concerns required to t fund a tuition reimbursement program. It is our position that funding this program to provide tuition reimbursement for employees pursuing further education in the field of business and communication would benefit this model. To enhance this point I will detail out several areas within our existing business structure as well as an eye for possible new structures, where personnel with skills in these areas can further the company’s goals and enhance productivity.
