Corporate Social Responsibility

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become increasingly important because of today’s heightened interest in the proper role of business in society has been promoted by increased sensitivity to and awareness of environmental and ethical issues. Issues such as environmental damage, improper treatment of workers, and faulty production leading to customer inconvenience or danger are only few of the many issues that greatly affect the need for the study of CSR; elsewhere, investors and investment fund managers have began to take account of a firm’s CSR policy in making investment decisions; some consumers have become increasingly sensitive to the CSR programs of the firms from which they buy their goods and services. These trends have contributed to the pressure on companies to operate in an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable way.

However, there is a tendency to treat CSR as yet another cost of business and hence be businesslike about the practice. With this tendency, the central problem of this study is the evaluation if i-CAPITAL ACCESS LENDING CORPORATION is aware of these CSR activities or is the company implementing CSR and if they do what are those CSR activities and how it is being implemented and the effects it brings to the company as a whole.

CONCLUSION:

Based on the findings of the study and the questions posed in this study, the following conclusions are made.

1. Thei-CAPITAL ACCESS LENDING CORPORATION is aware of the need to have their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the society and this are being embodied through their continuous effort to reach out with their clients (mainly small businesses like sari-sari stores, internet shops and pharmacies) focusing on lending moneywith small amount of interest that can aid in making more and more people entering to the business world helping to the improvement of the economy here in Cabanatuan....
