This I Believe

I believe that respect can make the world perfect. I see the local discrimination everywhere in my country, China. Because people always have the superiority when we are living in the more developed city, the local discrimination became a common thing. In addition, local discrimination caused by the lower education in the countryside, some people from the countryside will express the low quality like talk loudly in public, throw rubbish and do not pay attention to hygiene in the developer city. As far as I know, in China, the people of south discriminate the people from north; the people of Shanghai discriminate the people from countryside; the people of Hong Kong discriminate the people from mainland China. However, I believe that if we respect each other, the local discrimination will not happen. Including, Maya Angelou and Gloria Anzaldua who are the authors of “Graduation” and “How to Tame a Wild Tongue” respectively, were discriminated due to their color.

In my city, Hangzhou, the local many people look down upon the migrant workers and are rude to them like that they often pay less or delay the wage of them. I saw a picture which shows that two migrant workers sat on the floor in the subway train but there are more than two seats available. Then, I read the explanation that someone asked the two poor migrant workers why they were sitting on the floor. They answered that other people said their clothes were so dirty, so they could not sat in the seats. I really felt sorry for them when I was looking at their helpless and discouraged faces. Recently, I saw a video in YouTube which shows a child who is from the mainland China, ate food in the subway train in Hong Kong. Then that behavior caused complaining of other people because eating is not allowed in the subway. Therefore, an explosive dispute happened between one main land Chinese woman and all Hong Kong people in...
