Capital Punishment
Well, for me this subject is a very touchy one, because, I have many different opinions on capital punishment. I do feel that capital punishment is deserved based on the crime committed by the individual who is a convicted person. I believe that based on the crime committed one should be punished for his/her actions. Say, if someone was to hurt my family extensively, like causing terrible pain, I would seriously want to hurt them in return. I hate to use this as an example, but, if someone was to rape my daughter, I would be very furious, enough anger to commit a violent crime . That may be the wrong perspective to follow, but, I do know that my emotions would be completely controllable, and I cannot say that I would be in the right state of mind. Because of the justice systems inadequate punishments, I would rather have that person out of societies harm, and free of no one else receiving that kind of torture. The individual who would commit the crime would not receive enough punishment to me by the justice system, and they can easily return to society to commit the same crime again in just a few years. But, I do not feel that if I were to go on the defense for the sake of my child, that I would have to receive capital punishment. Because, in my opinion it would be like self defense on behalf of my child.
In Florida people met to talk about the lethal injection that took place and the condemned man had chemical burn marks on both arms. (Lithwick, 2007) Another position I have on capital punishment is that is extensively costly to house an inmate in the penitentiaries. Up to the receptionist, security, inmate support, and health cost, so many different money digits in accounting for an inmate. Now that is absolutely crazy money,; we could really spend that kind of money curing children with cancer, or any illnesses they may have. For families who really cannot...
