Misconceptions and misunderstanding concerning the role of police officers can be considered as a quality to the not true representation to represent dramatically by the media. This made up image given by the media has caused the public to be untaught and have false views of the roles of police officers as they help the public.

The role of crime fighter is placed as the main role of police officers by the public in general but, other roles to this profession like social servant, order maintainer, and crime preventer are just as important. This essay will examine the roles of police officers.
