What would a perceptual map of your own industry look like? My choices for my perceptual map are as follow; Lifestyle Image, price, service offerings and quality engineering. I choose lifestyle because Thorr Company prides them in maintaining their lifestyle image and that is one important factor that sets them apart from competitors. In my perceptual map I choose price because we are trying to target a younger audience and money can be an issue when it comes to buying a motorcycle. Price is an important factor when it comes to buying a bike. It can either represent or relate to the quality that is put into the product and sometimes people assume if the price is low; it must be a poor quality product. Either way, price plays an important role when it comes to buying an item or not. Another point in my perceptual map is service offerings. Our main goal is to provide excellent service to all our customers. Treating everyone with respect and as individuals will help us gain new and existing customers. Last but not least, I have quality engineering. If my industry maintains a high quality in the product that we are building, it gives us as a company, credibility and good reputation.

Where would you go to get data? I will gather data from dealership because they can pretty much let me know what type of audience I need to target. The internet can help with the collection of the data because there are many sites where we can promote our new product. We can collect data from surveys and questionnaires.

When do you think a perceptual map cannot be used?

Did the repositioning of the product in the simulation occur as you expected? At first, I did not understand the simulation. After my second time doing the simulation I was able to put together my ideas into the simulation.
