If we learn ahead of time to think about situations in a different manner beforehand and not be surprised at the different dilemma that may arise we would most likely make better decisions when the time to make a hard decision arises. In the paragraphs below I will describe how certain scenarios could have a significantly negative effect on a healthcare organization.

Failing to account for employees’ ability to learn safe machine operation methods by experimenting on their own with ways to speed up production and thereby reduce the effort they are required to use could hurt an organization because the organization could be liable for any hazards that are caused by their employees’ unsafe practices. Especially if it was known that a manager had prior knowledge of the negligence. If a manager had knowledge of uncertainty reduction and uncertainty absorption they could be prepared for a situation of this sort and according to Boisot, Max & Child, John (1999) “develop a posture and organizational structure that allows confident action even when risk might be poorly understood.”

Putting all employees through the same orientation program regardless of differences in cultural interpretations of organizational hierarchies could be an error in any environment. From the readings in our book we learn that organizational theorists used complexity science to structure organizations.
