INTRODUCTION

Every organization is influence by the internal and external factors. There are things, situations and events that occur from within and outside the organization and affect the organization in either a positive or negative way. Internal factors refer to events that occur inside the organization and are by-and-large under the control of the organization. However, external factors are those things that occur outside the organization and are by-and-large not under its control. Therefore, usually organizations refer the internal and external factors as their driving forces.

1.1 BACKGROUND OF INTEL CORPORATION

Intel Corporation is the world's largest semiconductor company. Intel was founded on July 18, 1968 by Gordon E. Moore who is chemist and physicist and Robert Noyce who is a physicist and co-inventor of the integrated circuit when they left Fairchild Semiconductor. Intel was stands for Integrated Electronics Corporation and based in Santa Clara, California, USA.

Until today around 40 years of services, Intel’s factories and offices are located around the world. When Intel is located worldwide, it is able to help Intel to understand the different culture in each country. Besides that, it also helps Intel to develop products which can suit the requirement of the different people in different county. Intel is able to save labor cost by producing their product in the less develop country and also to give jobs opportunity to people around the world.

Intel was being introduced into Malaysia in the early 1972. The founder was being persuaded by a consultant to consider the ideal location which is Penang in Malaysia for their first offshore assembly operations. The Intel team was impressed by the Penang’s location, workforce and the competency and support of the local government.
