#2 Nike needs an ethics program that allows the company and employees to communicate with each other effectively. When there is bad communication between the company and its employees, things normally go wrong within the company as a whole. There should also be a training program that ensures all the employees know how to behave when they are doing their job and understand what is ethical and unethical. “Ethics is not just about doing what is legally right; more important, it is about what is morally right” (Clark, pg. 1). The training program should be required for all of the employees. Nike should require all employees to be responsible for obeying its codes of conduct. ‘The second key element to a solid ethics foundation is ethics training” (Pike, pg. 1). Therefore, all employees should take the ethics training class which would teach them how to resolve ethical dilemmas that may occur in the workplace and it will assist in maintaining an ethical organizational culture. This type of program would help keep the unethical behavior down and prevent the company from getting into trouble.

#3 By conducting an ethics audit early, Nike could have avoided many problems. They could have found out which expectations were not being met. They could have saw how to meet those expectations. With an ethic audit Nike could have identified the company’s strength and weaknesses. The company should have conducted an audit of business practices with legal ramifications such as employee safety, environment, impact, and financial reporting. If Nike would have been able to see what their company locked earlier, they could have solved the problems and avoided them from continuing to happen. If Nike would have addressed the problems, things would have gone a lot smoother. The company had issues dealing with employee working conditions and pay, yet they were not identified or addressed brought to those of higher power to address to the local government.
