Overview of Maybank Islamic Berhad’s products

Maybank Islamic Berhad had offered several types of banking and finance products in order to meet the diversified needs in the market. Basically, the deposits and financing activities of Maybank Islamic were divided into two main sectors which are consumer banking and business banking. These sectors were divided based on the types of the target customers in the market.

In the business banking sector of Maybank Islamic, there are different types of products offered to the consumers. As shown in diagram 1 above, the types of business banking products included term financing, working capital, deposit, trade finance and government or special funds. Nevertheless, each of these types of products would be seperated more deeply in order to meet the consumer needs better. For example, the term financing was included the products such as BBA Term Financing-I, Musharakah Mutanaqisah Term Financing-I (MMTF-I), Commodity Murabahah Term Financing-I (CMTF-I) and Murabahah Term Financing-I (MTF-I).

On the other hand, the consumer banking sector which would be focused in our group report had consist the types such as save and invest, financing and others. Those types would also continuously separate into several sub-divisions. For example, the save and invest would be separate into the sub-divisions such as savings account, current account and term deposits. The situation was as same as the business banking sector and the purpose was to suit the consumer needs better and perfectly.
