You are the Marketing Manager for a new beverage that has done remarkably well in the United States after its introduction, especially in sports arenas such as football and basketball. The Vice President of Operations charged you and your team to develop a strategy for entering this new beverage into the global market. You need to take this task back to your team, provide them with the product details, and get them started as quickly as possible because they only have one week to develop a strategy.

What communication channel will you use? Why is this channel the best choice in this situation? What communication channel will you use to convey your strategy to the Vice President of Operations? Why is this channel the best choice in this situation?

For this scenario, I will use face-to-face communication channel. According Robins and Judge (2011) face-to-face communication provides the highest information richness. Because this project is time sensitive it will be a better choice to be deliver face-to-face. This will allow the parties to get instant feedback and to clarify uncertainties. Written communication can be time consuming and it does not provide an immediate feedback, also it can be interpret it differently by each reader. After the face-to-face meeting, I will follow up with the Vice President of Operations and the rest of the team with a written report to highlight the important topics discussed in the meeting and to present future deadlines. This will allow everyone to have a hard copy that they can use for reference.
