Bead Bar System Development Project Axia College of University of Phoenix IT205: Management of Information Systems Anthony Funaro 08, February 2009 Purpose The goals of Bead Bar are to improve the company’s performance by improving accuracy and efficiency by using Information Technology. This systems development plan will concentrate on many of the key issues of the Bead Bar employees to decide what recommendations would significantly improve the performance of the entire company. The systems development life cycle phases, which contains seven phases will be used to make sure that all of the projects and procedures are conducted successfully. This systems development plan will concentrate on the needs of the Bead Bar employees, implementing a database, a network and will concentrate on the benefits that an e-commerce Bead Bar website will produce for the company. The planning phase is the first phase of the systems development life cycle and is an important step to outline all of the proposed systems and to decide on a suitable budget for the proposed systems. Once the system is outlined and a budget is agreed upon, we will concentrate on determining a suitable schedule for designing and the implementation of the approved systems. This phase will be used to plan the proposed systems for Bead Bar, which are a database, network and an e-commerce site. A database is a system that will allow all of Bead Bar’s studios, corporate office, franchises and the Bead Bar on board to securely post and share data. A network will be needed for all of the studios, franchises, and Bead Bar on board to communicate and share data with the main database through computers. An e-commerce site will provide website that will let customers browse all Bead Bar products and purchase the products by using a form of electronic payment such as PayPal or electronic check.
