Why: I read this article because I have recently been forced to use a Macbook Pro at work and I have started to attempt to stay updated with Apple now. I have also been given an iPad at work and the iCloud and new features that will be available in OS Mountain Lion are going to make some of my daily duties more efficient and pleasant. The transition to Apple has not been the best and I currently run a Windows 7 VM on my Macbook Pro. Having said that, I have been impressed with some ways the Macbook works, but still prefer a Windows based computer at the moment. This article is not anything bleeding-edge but it did interest me to read about how my less than 1 year old Macbook is outdated and how the new OS it came with (OS Lion) is also going to be outdated next month.

What: The article I read today was about the unveiling of Apple's new Macbook and Macbook Pro. Also including in the article is the debut of their new OS Mountain Lion. The new Macbook has been tuned up and includes new features like: an ultra-crisp display called "Retina Display"(2880x1880 resolution), Intel's new "Ivy Bridge" processor, and a GeForce graphics card that is 60% faster than the previous AMD. Surprisingly, the MacBook models will be $100 cheaper than they were last year and start to ship out today. OS X Mountain Lion is Apple's new operating system and will be available next month. The new Macbook's do not come with Mountain Lion, but customers will have a free upgrade who purchased a new Macbook starting today. The new OS does integrate with iCloud which allows users to sync all their apple devices including iPhones, iPads, iPods, and Macbooks. Syncing can be accomplished by having an Apple ID, and iCloud will automatically push your data to all your registered devices.
