Adults are free to make their own mistakes in life in regards to the use of chemicals and violence; however children do not have that luxury. Adult addicts of all sorts have a choice as to whether or not they seek treatment or help for their dilemma. Children have no such choice. Children have several basic needs that need to be met if they are to have an optimum chance at having a happy, healthy and productive chance in childhood. If they are raised in a home where there is chemical dependency, abuse violence or neglect they will act out in some way, there is a high degree of probability they will manifest the symptoms behaviorally at school or outside the house.
