Moving Out Vs. Living at Home

When a young adult graduates from high school, the question of “Should I move out?” will often arise. Unfortunately, most teenagers jump on the chance to have their freedom from their parents or legal guardians. Students who are contemplating on whether to move out or stay at home need to take all money, housekeeping, and social time into careful consideration before making this decision.

A student who decides to live at home usually is not expected to pay rent. On the other hand the pupil who does move into an apartment will have a large amount of rent due every month. Also, he or she will have to put money down for a deposit for the apartment. The cost of utilities comes into view after just a month of living in an apartment. These bills can range from sixty dollars to one hundred and fifty dollars a month. Where as, the adolescent who chose to live at home can pocket this large amount of money each month or use for entertainment purposes. On top of the expense of the apartment, the student will have to purchase food for the home or continually eat at fast food restaurants.

Another major issue of a young person moving out is the daily house keeping. The dishes will began to pile up in the sink with fungus and bacteria of all types, the laundry dirty and or clean lying on the floor. Underneath the massive amount of clothes on the kitchen floor is little specks from meals of the last few weeks. The bathroom has white spots on the mirror and the toilet has the mildew ring around the bottom of the bowl. These are signs of a single person living on there own through out the place. The chores are simple but become easily forgotten and there are so many more, dusting, cleaning counters tops, wiping out the microwave, wiping down the oven and wiping the table off.
