Spring 2012
You can refer to Chapter 10, pages 535-536 and 581-582 for more details on this assignment. Even though the details of this assignment appear at the end of the text, you will NOT wait until the end of the semester to start the assignment. Please read below for an overview of the assignment, including milestones throughout the semester.
Summary of Expectations
This assignment requires you to get feedback from at least 10 people who know you well and will give you honest feedback. Then you must analyze the responses you receive to create a “portrait” of your best self. That is, who are you when you are at your very best? You will write up your findings and share with an assigned team in class on April 10 to receive feedback and further improve your paper. You will submit your final paper by April 23 at midnight on Blackboard.
Who should you contact?
Because not everyone will have time to respond, you should contact at least 20 people initially. You must have feedback from 10 people to write your final paper, so if more than 10 cannot give you feedback based on your initial requests, you must send out more requests until you get 10 respondents.
I suggest you contact at least 10 people who have known you in a professional capacity, whether it is work, volunteering, or professional through school. At least 2 of those should be current or former supervisors. The others can be friends and family members who can give you honest feedback as well.
The Final Report
The final report should be clear, concise, and written using an attractive, business format. The final report should include an appendix with a table like the one found on page 581 of your book, summarizing all of your feedback. The actual body of the report should include the following sections:
* Executive Summary
* Key Themes in the feedback
* Key Intepretations/Conclusions about yourself based on...
