Decision Making Process

The decisions we make through out our lives are based on what we think and belief. When we make decisions without really going through a decision process we have the potential of making bias decisions based on our believes and the way we have been program to think. We are constantly thinking, but in many instances we are not applying critical thinking. At some point in our lives we use critical thinking to make important decisions that will affect our present and future. Learning the decision making process will benefit us to become critical thinkers at all times.

Critical Thinking Application

According to "Defining Critical Thinking" (2011),[Critical thinking is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action. In its exemplary form, it is based on universal intellectual values that transcend subject matter divisions: clarity, accuracy, precision, consistency, relevance, sound evidence, good reasons, depth, breadth, and fairness.]

Once we start applying critical thinking skills we can become fair minded, rational individuals.

I find myself making decisions in many occasions without taking the recommended steps in the decision making process. In many occasions I have realized that I could of made better decisions if I had taken the necessary steps before deciding a course of action. However when it comes to very important decisions that I believe would have a dramatic impact I make a point to use critical thinking skills.

Working as a bar manager I find myself using critical thinking skills when I have to make certain decisions that affect the business as well as other employees.
