Reasons:

1. Assist the process of national development.

- By 2020, Malaysia would like to become a developed country like Japan and South Korea.

- To achieve this goal the government has been planning and implementing a lot development projects such as the second Penang Bridge, Bakun Hydro-Electric Project and others.

- To success these projects, our country requires too many labour force.

- But the citizens in Malaysia are too choosey in jobs and not interesting in construction sector which is considered too difficult to work and not on par with their qualifications.

- Fortunately the shortage of labour force can be solved by these foreign workers.

- By legallising these illegal workers, more labour force can assist the implementations of development projects and then help Malaysia’s efforts to become a developed country.

2. Promote the economic growth.

- As a developing country, Malaysia still expects the present of the foreign investors in particular to develop the industrial sector, mining sector, business sector and others.

- However, these foreign investors only look forward to country which has low cost of labour force.

- Therefore, the willingness of foreign workers to work at low wage levels in the country attracts a lot of foreign investors to Malaysia and then develops the various sectors of the economy.

- The citizens in Malaysia do not wish to work in the agricultural, livestock and fisheries sectors. But these foreign workers are able to work at these sectors. These sectors in our country will be progressed.

- In other words, by legalising the illegal workers, the labour force in our country will increase. They not only can increase more our country’s productivity and export activity, but also contribute the revenue of our country.
