An internal factor that may affect the four functions of management within McDonalds would be diversity. Diversity is the inclusion of different types of people (as people of different races or cultures) in a group or organization (merriam-webster.com). Diversity not only obtains to employees within the workplace but also amongst management as well. Today I will be highlighting how diversity in fact influences the direction of the four functions of management including planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. Next we highlight these different areas from a diverse perspective.

`Planning is an important part of any business and includes analyzing current situations, anticipating the future, determining objectives, deciding in what types of activities the company will engage, choosing corporate and business strategies, and determining the resources needed to achieve the organizations goals (Foundations of Management, pg. 16). McDonalds took the initiative in laying out a plan that would prove success as time went forward that would benefit the customers as well as the organization of today. Maintaining diversity among corporate employees is more than just a directive--it's a way of life. It's ingrained into the corporate system as much as the Golden Arches that symbolize the brand, because McDonald's values diversity as much as it values its standing in the fast-food industry--which happens to be No. 1 (www.findarticles.com). As you can see the methods used throughout McDonalds were discussed and then implemented into their programs to be carried out worldwide.

Our next subject is diversity when it comes to the organization of the McDonalds Corporation. As time goes forward changes come about from all levels within an organization in general.
