Report This Essay

Dear Ms. Mathar:

Re: University of the Punjab Website Usability Study

We have conducted a study to evaluate the usability of the University of the Punjab website. Our comprehensive research analysis and recommendations is available in the attached report: University of the Punjab website usability.

Our online survey consists of results obtained from voluntary participants from the Facebook community. This allowed us to get a better prospective of participants of all ages, and allowed us to form most of our recommendations and conclusions for this website. We were also supposed to include an in person usability study, however one member dropped out of the course, thus disabling us from completing and analyzing the in person usability study.

Our comprehensive analysis was composed of viewpoints of a prospective student, current university student and a perspective of a natural heuristic running through the website for the three main components: Visual Esthetics, Information Architecture and Learnability.

We have concluded that the aesthetics are not very appealing for the users, the information architecture can cause frustrations, and the overall learnability is lacking. We have created some key recommendations in order to increase navigability, enhance visual aesthetics and thus increase overall learnability of the website. These recommendations include better usage of colours, fonts and better formatting, clearer navigation, with fewer areas dedicated to links and more to information, and updating and sorting information under relevant headings.

If there are any concerns or questions you may have after reviewing our report, please do not hesitate to contact us at or . We look forward to answer any concerns you may have and hearing your views on this report.

Sincerely,
