• What are enterprise systems? Provide examples of organizational functions supported by enterprise systems.

Enterprise systems (ES) are large-scale application software packages that support business processes, information flows, reporting, and data analytics in complex organizations. In short, ES are packaged enterprise application software (PEAS) systems.. The data base collects stores and uses this information to perform vital business functions. This may include but is not limited to manufacturing, marketing, finance, accounting, public relations and human resources. When information is entered is shared by all of the necessary departments. This information dissemination makes business functions easier to perform. Many organizations use such systems and very good example of such a system is SAP. Sap is an enterprise system that not only maintains a data of information but is also able to pull information for multiple sources and this is able to output the information in much way. In a entertainment environment, sap able to pull the financial data from sales transactions what were processed a POS system is then able to take that data processes it based of what needs are required of it. For example can we used a system that is able to access external vendor catalogs, and if properly integrated is able to create notations for approvals on shopping carts, process vendor responses and when even generate the payment checks that have to send to the vendor a purchase was made from.
