This topic is talk about how to get a driving license in Malaysia. We got five main types of driving license in Malaysia, namely: Learner’s Driving License (LDL), Probationary Driving License (PDL), Competent Driving License (CDL), Vocational Driving License (VDL or Commercial Driving License), and International Driving Permit (IDP). There are several classes of driving license, A, B, B1, B2, C, D, E, E1, E2, F, G, H, and I.

Who have attained the age of 16 year old or above can be obtain the driving license. For who are 16year old can obtain a B2 (motorcycle) and 17 years old for D (car) license. Those wanting to get an E license (lorry) must be 21 years or above. To get the driving license in Malaysia from my experience and knowledge, all learner shall attend a 6-8 hour road safety course and pass the theory test for Learner Driving License (LDL), and finally attend the others 5-7 hour maintenance manual car courses. Basically, for this LDL license holder are only allowed to drive area displaying, the “L” plate owned by driving school 4nder the supervision of the instructor. And for motorcycle license holder, the learner can ride their motorcycle with displaying the “L” plate b4t without a pillion. This LDL license cannot be possessed for more then two years, if after two years d4e date, the license holder shall renew.

After passed the LDL theory test, learner will proceed to get the PDL. So to get this PDL, learner shall passed all the driving lessons test such as slope test, side parking and three point turn maneuvers. After this three test have been taught, the instructor will finally go on to route test and this test will be conducted by JPJ officials. Hence, all test result will be issued to learner instantly, of cause, if fail either part of the test, then the leaner need to retake the exam.
