Explain the factors of project success and give appropriate examples.

1. Increase team efficiency

Team efficiency is the performance of team working together in harmony in a workplace. To increase team efficiency, it is the duty of a leader to monitor the performance of his or her team, bring out the best among his or her subordinates and determine the weaknesses, strengths, and potential development of each team member. Team efficiency is the major key in increasing productivity within a group. For example, if only one person working on a task that required at least three persons to complete it, then the task will be done poorly by that one person.

2. Reduce conflict

Conflict is a major problem in completing a project successfully. Poor ways of communication between project members could lead to termination of project due to conflicts. Therefore, it is important to reduce conflict to ensure project success. As for example, project managers who lack good interpersonal skills or people skills are inefficient in dealing with the organization and issues within. Such incompetence may cause the relationships of managers with their people to be weak and resentful. If this is the situation, conflicts are more likely to generate.

3. Common language and process for all project participants

To ensure all project members and participants really get the whole idea of a project, common ways of conversing, conveying messages and delivering information must be used so that every participants understand the very details of the project. This will help avoiding participants from straying away from the scope of the project. For example, to avoid confusion in fluid measurement, a standardized metric system is widely used in construction field.
